About

About

Deborah Conti likes exploring the boundaries of glass in a torch, as well as playing with sandblasting, electroforming, neon, and cold-working glass. One can never know what will capture her imagination next.

She came out of Ithaca, got her degrees in Lexington, and rambled through Champaign and Raleigh before a long stint in Des Moines. There, she taught lamp working at The Des Moines Art Center, Iowa State University, and was in The Visiting Artist Programs around the state. She also taught through her own studio. Her family moved to Washington DC in 2006 and she began working and teaching out of the Washington Glass School. More recently, Deborah has relocated to her own studio where she continues to push the envelope of her creativity. Her newest inpirations include recycled glass jewelry, kinetic glass art, glass lockets, and wearable glass jewelry as installation objects.
